Phlebotomy and EKG Technician Program

About the program

What will I learn in MPI's Phlebotomy & EKG Technician program?

The Phlebotomy & Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician program introduces students to health care settings, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, the proper techniques of venipuncture and skin-puncture, body fluid collection, specimen processing, some lab tests, performing EKG’s, stress tests, and holter monitors. Graduates of the program should have the ability to successfully collect and process specimens using proper protocol and procedure, perform EKG’s and recognize normal and common abnormal EKG’s.

What happens after I graduate?

MPI's student support services assists students with their job search after they graduate. Graduates also have the unique opportunity to work with Medical Professional Staffing (MPS) to be placed in a job in their medical field. Graduates will be prepared both to work in a health care setting at an entry level, and to sit for national certification examinations.
