The Massachusetts Department of Education has granted approval to Medical Professional Institute's Emergency Room Technician (ERT) Program.

The ERT program was created in response to the rising demand for highly skilled personnel in the health care industry. The program focuses on teaching the necessary knowledge and skills needed for an entry-level emergency room technician. An emergency room technician is an individual who assists and supports emergency room nurses and doctors in the performance of procedures in the emergency or urgent care department in providing health care to patients.

The program is a 600-hour certificate program divided into three (3) ten-week quarters, over a nine-month period with holidays and breaks corresponding to those of Medical Professional Institute. In addition to the Emergency Room Procedures and Emergency Medical Response courses, the program includes courses on career development, computer training, and medical terminology.
